Even further update--on Tuesday Feb. 25, in a 7-2 vote, SF's Board of Supervisors reaffirmed their 2001 sanctuary resolution (SF Res 955-01) and expanded its protections to explicitly include dispensary landlords. Both resolutions are in direct response to the DEA's "threat" letters that were sent to hundreds of MCD landlords statewide. Advocates in Berkeley and SF worked hard to achieve these resolutions; kudos to them all.
Rep. John Conyers, Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, has called for oversight hearings into DEA interference with California's compassionate use laws.
