City Of Berkeley OKs Medical Marijuana Resolution

Earlier in the week(story) the city of Berkeley, CA was considering becoming a sanctuary for medical Marijuana patients, should the DEA raid the local clubs, keeping patients from their medicine.

According to The Daily Californian, Berkeley has unanimously passed a resolution to become a sanctuary for medical Marijuana patients in the event of interference from the federal Government.
The resolution, which was received with overwhelming support and applause from the audience, opposes attempts by the Drug Enforcement Administration to conduct raids on medical marijuana dispensaries in Berkeley, and urges city, county and state departments to not cooperate in the event that a raid occurs.

By claiming itself as a sanctuary, Berkeley have committed to ensuring that residents are provided access to medicinal marijuana if dispensaries in the city are shut down.

I'd imagine this will be the first of many such announcements, I'm so glad that patients in northern California have a sanctuary from the raids. San Francisco needs to follow suit.

Update: I stand corrected, San Francisco is already a sanctuary and has been for four years, thank you Anonymous Stoner.
