Medical marijuana dispensaries and 215 patients would not be targeted by the investigation, Schadler said. The Humboldt Cooperative, a medical marijuana dispensary in Arcata, said Tuesday evening that federal agents had not interfered with business.I hope they're telling the truth, the big "commercial" grow ops are just asking for it anyway. Long live 215!
”We're not here to set policy or interfere with California's compassionate use laws,” Schadler said. The FBI is investigating “for-profit and corporate grow operations beyond the scope of 215.”

Hayward Medical Marijuana Club Raided
Submitted by Phusion on Thu, 11/01/2007 - 23:33The Mercury News posted word that a medical Marijuana club in Hayward, California was raided by the DEA, but they didn't mention when. The club had made over $50m in sales this year, probably why they got the attention of the feds.
Agents who raided the Compassionate Patients Cooperative in Hayward and several other east Bay Area locations shortly before dawn Tuesday also seized $200,000 in cash, two late model Mercedes Benz automobiles and a home in Lafayette. This is just another case of the feds flexing their muscle, do we have _any_ weapons against these raids? It seems that they're not just hitting San Francisco and L.A. anymore.
The pot club's owners, Winslow Norton and Abraham Norton, have been charged with drug distribution, money laundering and several other felony counts. They are being held without bond.
