I may find comfort here

..I may find peace within the emptiness ..

So, I woke up with a sore throat and a bad cough this morning, so I called in sick. Yes, I am playing GTA4, yes I am actually sick. I've managed to sit indoors all day on this incredible spring afternoon... it's no fun. I must say, there have been some incredible strains popping up at the pot clubs.. want to hear about the latest ones? Of course you do!

Black Berry Soda: Indoor, organic, hydro, 60% sativa, fruity floral taste

This stuff lives up to its name, the buds have such a dark purple color, you'd think it was covered in blackberry soda. It tastes really good and does the trick, if you find some of this stuff, make sure to sample some!

Sweet Tart: indoor, organic, hydro, 80% Sativa, sour candy taste

The sweet tart is very nice, once again, pleasant smell and taste and it knocks you right on your ass, try it!

OG Kush x Blueberry: Indoor, organic, soil, 70% Sativa, disel-berry taste

If you've had either strain, you'll know they're the cat's meow, so combining them was a really good idea. This medicine is tasty like blueberry and very strong like the OG Kush... works well for joints!

Jack Herer: Indoor, organic, hydro, 85% Sativa,  key lime pie taste

Check out his site if you haven't yet, this magical strain of herb is light in color, VERY tasty and quite potent. A staple of California pot clubs, give this one a toke or two, it'll really cure what ails yah.

That's it for now, I've got to run back to the club and see what kind of lollipops and etibles they have, smoking doesn't seem like an option and I still don't own a vape! Lame! I'm going to go play some more GTA4, stay up, never give in and keep smokin!

Dust Bowl

Arrgh, well, I'm really enjoying the bug fixes and new theme this new Drupal install affords us, but damn it, I've got a lot of configuring to do. The WYSIWYG editor is jerking me around, disappearing text and not allowing me the target =new tag are just some of my latest annoyances. This is good though, we're running the latest code, so we won't get pwn3d and we have all the latest Drupal functionality at our finger tips. Now everyone pray that Cobain doesn't hose the server again :)

I'm feeling pretty drained, I visited Berkeley, California on Saturday night for a giant party at one of the student co-op buildings. It was AMAZING, the DJ's were cookin' and there were enough college girls in bikini's to film the next Girls Gone Wild movie.  Why didn't I go to college again?

When I have time, I'll be picking away at the site, I've been poking around a few minutes and I've already found some glitches and missing features.. oh goody. For those of you wondering, the latest strain that I've been puffin' on is called "Blue Dream", it's an 80% sativa strain, indoor with a perfume-like taste. It's on the light side, but you can expect that from the nearly-pure sativa strains. I may end up switching to indica soon, but after this weekend, I didn't need anything to /put/ me to sleep, I was already there, man.

Friend of the site; Drew has decided to move his Marijuana related posting to Smokedot, we're glad to have him. We're also working on breaking the story of a combat injured vet who's being prosecuted for his use of medicinal Marijuana, in the state of California no less! More interesting things to come, I'm sure. Check out my introductory post in the forums!

If you're interested in joining the Smokedot team, email me here: phusion@smokedot.org.

Puff, Puff, Pass

I'm chillin' back with a big bowl of "White Cherry", an indoor, organic strain with 80% indica, based on the "Gush" strain. It's treating me well, and so is this Eek-A-Mouse record, man, I sure know how to relax. Anyway, it's been a great weekend, I accomplished quite a bit.. in the partying sense anyway. Northbeach in San Francisco is a rockin' place on a Saturday night, and add some of the most amazing blues music ever, you have quite a night.

What's going on in the news, you ask? Let's go over some of the tidbits:

Smokedot Wants You!

The site's been up for a while now and we've managed to keep a semi-updated stream of news on the front page. Our unique visits are climbing and I am still short handed. If you have any news experience, or are just a good writer, please drop me a line, leave a comment or send an email to phusion at smokedot dot org. I'd like to move forward with the site, which includes regular news posts as well as the addition of content to Smokedot.

Attack & Release

What a night! *phew* I'm going to sleep good tonight! I haven't had as much time for news as I'd like and I'm having trouble finding newsies for the site, so please excuse the slow news posting. With any luck we'll start doing news round up posts to get the little stuff that doesn't make it to the main page.

Jack Herer

I made a stop at my local medical marijuana co-op today to see if they had anything new. Much to my delight I found a fresh batch of Jack Herer on the "Sativa" side of the display case. This is a strain I'm familiar with, the citrus stench and smooth taste were like the embrace of an old friend.

This particular batch of Herer is from northern california, grown indoors with organic soil, it is an 85% sativa strain and has a tangy citrus taste that it unmistakeable. It's about as potent as the T.Wrex, but has a better taste and smell. This is a strain to try...

Workis Over

Thank god the weekend is finally here, I was really getting tired of the whole 9-5 deal. Monday is a mind crushing blow, y'know?

So, I added The Oaksterdam News to the links block on the lower left, they're a good site and their print paper circulates around the local cannabis clubs in California. With any luck, we can get a mention of Smokedot in their print version of the 'zine.

I haven't had much time to update the front page, I will make sure to make a big update this weekend. It's hard to do the news all alone, but so far no one with any skills has stepped up to the plate to be part of the news staff. We've been in a bit of a lul for the last couple of weeks, but we're still moving forward, make no mistake. Smokedot is here to stay.

It was interesting to see your responses to my Scientology post. It's a controversial subject for some, but to me, they're just a wrong on this earth that needs to be righted. I'm sorry if I was romanticizing about the whole thing, but I'm passionate about this and I'm going to go off on my own little shpeels sometimes.. thats why this is the BLOG portion of the site and not a story on the front page.... this site is all about medical marijuana news, laws and discussion, but it's nice to post a nice rant here and there.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading and thanks much to Chumpsucker and Drew who have been helping out quite a bit.

I had a Super Bowl on Sunday

The weekend came and went, I guess the superbowl was on tv.. or something? Under things I wanted to see, homo-erotic butt slapping and multi-million dollar beer commercials were not on the list-- I don't understand America's fascination with football, or the circuis that is the SuperBowl.

We Do Not Forgive. We Do Not Forget.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty psyched about this whole business with "Anonymous" and "Project Chanology"-- it feels like it's really something. For those of you who are unaware, there is a war being waged against Scientology on the Internet and in "the real world". You can find all the information you need on the above link to Project Chanology wiki, but to keep you up to date, there have been video taped, non-violent raids on Scientology in Orlando, FL, New York, NY, Canada and more. The Scientology web site was taken down for a day or so by a DDoS perpatrated by Anonymous, the leaderless movement of people dedicated to flushing Scientology down the drain. If there is no leader, there is no defeat. If there is no single mind, there is no corruption. We are many, we are legion.

I've been floating aroun on IRC, moving around different message boards and talking to people about this whole thing and it's LARGE. There are IRC channels set up for most major cities, even Australia and New Zealand are onboard. I'm excited because I've always been angry with Scientology and how they exploit their members for money.. also, this is the biggest thing to happen on the net in recent memory.

Check the chanology wiki for a status report, where to organize, how to raid, fliers, anti-propaganda, and general information on taking this insane cult to the ground, for good. This will _not_ happen over night, we will not destroy the beast in a short amount of time. The followers of Scientology are ASLEEP, their third eyes spraypainted shut by fanatics and brain washing-- help wake them up! Bring light into an otherwise dark existence, join Anonymous, raid in your town and pass out literature to passers by, don't let anyone else get sucked in.

This is considerably off topic from my usual posts, but I really believe in this movement. Learn about what's going on. Thank you.

Think for yourself.

Royal Purple

Since I've been hitting the sativa's so hard lately, it was time to try some couchlocking indica. There were several strains I wanted to try, like Romulan, and there was some new Cindy 99 fresh off the.. uhm..  cure jar? After seeing the royal purple, I knew it was the strain for me.
