Facing a possible life sentence in the United States if extradited and convicted on charges of selling marijuana seeds to online U.S. customers, Marc Emery has agreed to a deal that would see him spend a minimum of five years behind bars in Canada.Thanks a lot "War on drugs" -- Free Marc!
Although the plea bargain is not yet "signed, sealed and delivered," Mr. Emery, 50, said that he expects to be heading to prison as early as March.
Should the five-year prison sentence be confirmed, it would be one of the harshest punishments in some years to be served in Canada for a marijuana offence.

The Globe And Mail.com posted news that Marc Emery, the self proclaimed prince of pot has agreed to do five years of prison time in Canada. Marc was busted by the DEA for distributing Marijuana seeds in 2005.

The deal is in order to save his friends Greg Williams and Michelle Rainey from also being extradited. Michelle has a Canadian med-pot exemption card and would die in a US prison without her medicine.
The tentative deal is a TEN year sentence without parole eligibility until a FULL five years have been done. Between the time of extradition for Marc until his appearance for sentencing he will be in a US jail (possibly 6 to 9 months) and the remainder of his sentence would be served in Canada.

The court appearance is being rescheduled until late May/early June.
Marc's lawyer was ordered by another judge to continue with an ongoing case that he has with a different client before he would be available to go to court for Marc.
No deal is certain at this stage.
Marc Emery is still being targetted but the process itself drags on.
